DIY
So now that you've bought your camera and you're learning a little more you realise that you need, err, I mean want all sorts of things now, different lenses, lights, umbrellas, flashes, hoods, backdrops, stands... A never ending list of things that the pros use that you need to make the perfect pictures that translates into an ever shrinking wallet. Ok, first off, remember you're not a pro so you don't need all this stuff. Once you've gotten that itch under control, it's true that your photos can benefit from a little assistance, for those with tighter more realistic budgets, often there are much cheaper alternatives that produce quite good results. My other passion so happens to be sailing which is the other hobby that can quikly deplete ones bank account. But with a little saavy and some elbow grease you can do a lot yourself, and that 22$ bolt can often be had at the hardware store for 2$.
In this series we'll give you a few DIY projects that you can try out, sometimes you'll get something you can use other times the project might convince you to purchase the equivalent part or even dissuade you.
